RESERVE — An East St. John High School student was arrested Tuesday, accused of detailing a possible school shooting while on campus.
According to the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office, the 14-year-old juvenile male, a LaPlace resident, is facing a felony terrorizing charge.
“The student made statements while in class (Tuesday) about carrying out a shooting at the school,” a statement from St. John the Baptist Parish Public Schools said. “He was immediately removed from campus and taken into custody by the Sheriff’s Office.
“The St. John the Baptist Parish School District takes any such statements seriously and any student making a threat will be turned over to the authorities immediately.”
