Reserve resident, 18, found shot, killed in ditch

RESERVE — An 18-year-old local man was found shot to death Saturday morning in a Reserve ditch, authorities said.
According to the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to East 27th and Farlough streets in Reserve after a resident reported finding the body.
Emergency medical services requested the coroner, who pronounced the victim — Colay McCovery of Reserve — dead on the scene.
McCovery sustained gunshot wounds to the body, police said.
