Country Music Television is coming to the Reserve Campus in March 2018.

As part of the commitment to Country Music Television’s “Empowering Education Program,” the Reserve Campus has been selected from all of the Community Colleges in Louisiana as one of eight to host a concert this coming Spring.

On Wednesday/March 14, the concert will be held in the Media Center of the new building on the campus. Courtney Cole will be the featured Artist for the concert.

Several former students will be featured in a special segment discussion group. Industry Partners will be on campus showcasing local jobs and careers.

We are so proud of all the hard work that was put into this honor.

Mike Palamone, Chair of the River Region Chamber of Commerce’s Workforce Committee, was instrumental with his assistance in writing the grant application. This event will be monumental in bringing to the forefront in our community the importance of Technical Education.

The Reserve Campus sits in the heart of the River Region and holds a remarkable opportunity for the “New Collar Workers” of our joined communities.

Newly graduated students from our local high schools, the unemployed and some of the most overlooked, the underemployed, have even more opportunities to make a difference in their lives and the lives of their families.

As the year comes to an end, thoughts turn toward the sparkle of the New Year. The coming year promises to be an exhilarating and a promising time for all of the River Parishes.

The merger of South Central Technical College and River Parishes Community College will bring new educational opportunities to the entire River Parishes community.

Students will now be able to complete a transferrable degree to most Louisiana four-year universities right here at home.

While Christmas is said to be the most wonderful time of the year, it’s the New Year that I look forward to with the same excitement as children on Christmas morning.

May your Holidays be filled with Joy, Good Health and Happiness and may your New Year be the one that all your dreams come true.
