Barbara Neal Wise passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017, peacefully in her home with her family and friends after a six-year battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Born Feb. 20, 1942, in Pineville, she was 75 years of age.

Barbara was married to Michael Wise and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Wise, and two children, Debbie Wise Tamplain (Kelsey) from LaPlace and Paul Wise of Baton Rouge. She was preceded in death by her parents, Issie and Jimmie Neal.

She is also survived by her sister, Louise Neal Doisher (Carl Dennis) from Glenmora; her brother, John W. Neal (the late, Connie Neal) from Lafayette; and four grandchildren, James, Amanda, Tyler and Cody.

She was a loving wife, mother and loved her grandkids. She was a mom to everyone.

She loved to bake rum cakes, pies and an assortment of sweets during the holidays.

She was an avid reader, an amazing homemaker and loved solving word puzzles.

She enjoyed a good challenging game of Scrabble, Yahtzee and Ms. Pac-Man.

And another special thanks to caregiver Iris Palermo, who helped us with Mom’s care for a year and a half.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 529 W. 5th St. in LaPlace on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 10 a.m.

Visitation will begin in church at 8:30 a.m.

Interment follows in St. John Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
