Norco Christmas Parade rolls in December

After being rained out in 2016, the Norco Christmas parade will resume its annual roll through the streets of Norco on Sunday, Dec. 3, at 2 p.m.
The parade will carry over last year’s theme, Santa Salutes our First Responders, honoring all the brave men and women who put their lives on the line every day.
More than 70 entries, including floats, marching bands, dance groups, horse riders, antique cars and pageant queens will roll east on River Road from Washington Street to Good Hope Street, travel north on Good Hope to Sixth Street, then turn south on Apple Street. It will disband at Apple and River Road.
Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive by helicopter at the beginning of the parade, landing on the Mississippi River levee. After the parade, Mr. and Mrs. Claus will be available for free photos with children by the community Christmas tree on Apple Street.
Each child will receive a giant candy cane.
The family-friendly event was a River Parishes staple in the 1970s before being disbanded. A group of local citizens, including Norco native Stephen Weber, helped revive the parade in 2001.
All participants are strongly encouraged to follow the theme of the parade or the overall Christmas theme in their decorations, costumes and music.
Anyone interested in participating in the parade may visit norconoel.com to download and print an entry form, which must be returned by Nov. 21. The entry fee is $50.
