RESERVE — St. John Sheriff Mike Tregre, along with several of his officers, attended a ceremony honoring first responders recently at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Home in Reserve.

Residents and staff recognized local law enforcement for their dedication and service to the citizens of St. John the Baptist Parish.

Officers enjoyed chatting with the residents and guests. Music, poems and prayers were among the highlights of the ceremony.

Each officer also received an appreciation certificate. Tregre said he is very grateful to the residents and staff for their support and prayers.
