Andouille Pageant registration ends today; fun begins Saturday

RESERVE — The deadline to register for the upcoming Andouille Pageant is 6p.m. today (Sept. 18).
This year’s theme is, “Planes, Trains, Automobiles & Heels.” Visit andouillefestival.com to download an application.
The 2016 Miss Andouille Queen Janet Nelson and Teen Andouille Queen Kash’Mir Foley will relinquish their crowns at the annual Pageant Saturday (Sept. 23) at 7 p.m. at St. John Theatre in Reserve.
To be eligible for participation, contestants must be single, childless, a resident of St. John the Baptist Parish and between the ages of 13-16 for the Teen Division and 17-23 for the Miss Division, on the date of the pageant.
This year, the St. John Miss Andouille Queen will get the honor of traveling to Washington, D.C. in January to attend the Washington Mardi Gras Ball as well as tour historical sites. Miss Andouille will also visit with U.S. Representatives and Senators, the Governor of Louisiana, and many elected officials and representatives of Louisiana.
Queens will also reign over the 44th annual Andouille Festival, held October 13-15, featuring music, good times and great food.
