LAPLACE — Parish President Natalie Robottom received approval Tuesday to move forward with innovative contracts that will provide better service and quality of life to residents.
The Parish Council authorized Administration to open bids for the Pleasure Bend Water Treatment Facility for construction. To meet the Safe Drinking Water Standard, St. John the Baptist Parish will install a permanent water well capable of producing over 70,000 gallons of water per day in Pleasure Bend.
At this time, water is purchased from St. James Parish for the rural community and thus the construction of the well, with a target date of beginning in October, will be the most cost-effective and safest approach to supplying water in Pleasure Bend.
This method also ensures all state and federal potable water regulations are sustained.
