LAPLACE — A local man was arrested over the weekend for body slamming his girlfriend onto their 6-year-old child, police said.

Christian Witte, 25, of LaPlace was arrested Saturday for domestic abuse battery with child endangerment. He is being held in custody in lieu of a $3,500 bond.

According to the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office, a 33-year-old female told deputies an argument with Witte, her boyfriend, escalated into a physical alteration at approximately 1 a.m. in 100 block of Augustin Lane in LaPlace.

“Witte lifted her from a couch, where she was laying with their 6-year-old son, and body slammed her on top of the child,” a Sheriff’s Office release said. “The victim refused medical treatment for her and the child.”

Witte was arrested at the scene.
