LUTCHER — Carolyn Bossier and Leanna Humphries were recently named St. James Parish Hospital Employees of the Quarter.

Fellow staff nominated both honorees, who were by and chosen by the Executive Leadership Team for their dedication to the hospital.

Bossier has worked at St. James Parish Hospital in various roles for the past 37 years. She has an Associate’s Degree in Nursing and serves as the Education Coordinator.

ER Clerk Shannon Jackson nominated Bossier because she is a dedicated employee who has worked with the Senior Citizen Program, infection control and as the Education Coordinator.

“She has done so many other wonderful things it would take me awhile to list them all,” Jackson said. “To me, that speaks volumes about the type of person she is and should give all a sense of pride.”

Bossier said she has worked at the hospital for more than half her life, adding she knew it was the place for her from the first day she walked into the facility.

“It soon became my home away from home and my extended family,” Bossier said. “Over the years, I have witnessed a lot of change and growth, bringing many people into my life and creating many new friendships with co-workers, patients and people from the community. I thank God daily for opening this door for me. I love my job and I am committed to making a positive experience for all of the people I come in contact with. St. James parish Hospital is truly large enough to serve and small enough to care.”

Humphries has served as an ER Tech for the past nine months. She is a 2008 graduate of Riverside Academy. She successfully completed medical assistant courses at Medical Training College in Baton Rouge in 2016.

She was nominated by ER staff members, who stated, “Leanna is truly amazing and one of a kind. I don’t think any of us could ever thank her enough. She is always going above and beyond to take care of her patients and the staff. Her positive attitude and kindness is greatly appreciated.”

Humphries said her motto is “believe in yourself. Whatever you choose to do in life, be the best at it and never give up!”
