CONVENT — A St. James Parish man is facing attempted manslaughter prosecution.

A grand jury returned a True Bill of Indictment June 26 on Ryan Harry, 45, of Vacherie.

The indictment follows a physical altercation in the parking lot of a St. James Parish convenience store.

St. James Parish Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the store March 14 in reference to a male lying on the ground in the parking lot. During the course of the investigation, detectives learned the victim had been struck by a man authorities identified as Harry, who was arrested.

Assistant District Attorney Bruce Mohon is the lead prosecutor.

Harry remains incarcerated at the St. James Parish Detention Center.
