Theatre President John LeBlanc said the show is a timeless classic being retold with a special, local touch.
“We’ve got a great team of people putting this show together with a superb cast, and we can’t wait for our audience to see it,” LeBlanc said.
The River Parish Community Theatre continues on its third consecutive year of summer productions after previous successful runs of “The Addams Family” and “Shrek: The Musical.”
Once again at the helm for “Annie” is director/set designer Darryl P. Clement.
With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone’s hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City.
She is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago at a New York City Orphanage that is run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan. With the help of the other girls in the Orphanage, Annie escapes to the wondrous world of NYC.
In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan’s evil machinations … and even befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. She finds a new home and family in billionaire, Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy.
Show dates July 14, 15, 20, 21 and 22 at 7:30 p.m. Also, July 16 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Peter School in Reserve (188 W 7th Street).
The show is supported by a River Region Arts and Humanities Council grant.
