HAHNVILLE — A sample of water taken from the West Bank of St. Charles Parish was recently named the best tasting water in the South Central Region.

The sample also placed third in the statewide contest last month in Baton Rouge.

“It is always an honor to win in our region and to compete at the state level ,” St. Charles Parish Waterworks Director Robbie Brou said.

The South Central Region includes Assumption, St. James, St. John, St. Charles, St. Mary, Lafourche and Terrebonne parishes. The officers of the region choose the winners.

The best tasting water awards at the state level are announced at the annual Louisiana Conference on Water Supply, Sewerage, and Industrial Wastes, Inc in Baton Rouge.
