LAPLACE — The National Weather Service confirmed the severe weather risk has ended for Louisiana.

St. John Parish received two to three inches of rainfall in LaPlace and four inches in Reserve since midnight with possible higher amounts elsewhere in the Parish.

Public Works and Utilities crews are checking drainage and utility systems and clearing roadways.

Due to the inundation of rainfall, ditches, canals and drainage systems are saturated and will need time catching up. Residents should dial 911 to report flooding for proper dispatch and reporting.

At this time all roads are passable, however, ponding of water is occurring in low-lying areas and motorists should use caution and never drive down flooded streets. No power outages were reported.
