A recent agreement with Delgado will put an NCCER Certification program on the Reserve Campus.

A National TAACT grant recently awarded to Delgado Community College included the River Parishes area. The two courses will run for two six-week periods and are in the area of Industrial Maintenance.

Classes are twice a week in the evenings to allow for students with day jobs to attend.

NCCER Core including OSHA will be the first six weeks and then, after a one week break, the second class will be on IM Level One. This program will include certifications after successful completion of the course work.

The class is open to anyone over the age of 17. This program is part of the SCALE – UP SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA Advanced Manufacturing & Energy Training.

South Central Louisiana Technical College is honored to be a part of this program in partnership with Delgado Community College. This is a prime example of combining resources between two local colleges to bring innovative programs to the community.

This program is completely free of charge to the student and is open for all to take advantage. This type of program allows the student the opportunity to determine if this field of work is something they may enjoy as a career.

Career Links will be held on April 5 in the Media Center. The Women & Industry Reception is March 22.

Finally, what we have all been waiting for, the official Ribbon Cutting of our new Center for the Advancement of Technical Education PTEC building is at 2 p.m. March 31.
