Rose Maria Freitas Vicknair, on Feb. 17, 2017, passed away peacefully with her loving husband of 47 years, Peter by her side.

She was 77.

She is also survived by her sons, Alton “Al” “Butch” Duhe’ Steven Duhe (Terri), Tim Duhe (Trudy), Evans “Buddy” Duhe (Melanie); 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Maria was the sister of Manny Freitas, Al Freitas, Ann Holmes, Claudia Whitney, Keith “Speedy” Freitas and Joe Freitas.

She was born in Good Hope and a resident of LaPlace.

Maria was retired from Castay Inc. after 20 years and began a new career in real estate with Latter & Blum.

Maria will always be remembered for her sense of humor and quick wit. Donations to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in her name are appreciated.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church, 799 Fairway Dr. in LaPlace on Tuesday, Feb. 21 at noon. Visitation will begin in church at 10 a.m.

Interment is in St John Memorial Gardens.
