Super Tax Day kicks off local help with information session Friday

RESERVE — The St. John the Baptist Parish Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) will kick off the 2017 Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program with Super Tax Day from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m Friday at the DHHS office in Reserve.
Staff will provide an overview on tax planning and preparation, earned income credit, the Affordable Health Care Act and the VITA program. Refreshments will be served.
Interested participants can also schedule appointments at this event. The program will run from Feb. 7 to April 13. Appointments will be scheduled on Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays only from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
