LAPLACE — The St. John the Baptist Parish Public School District Parent/Teacher Organization is conducting its annual Evening of Song from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the St. John the Baptist Parish Community Center on U.S. 51 in LaPlace.

The event is open to the public.

The evening features musical performances by St. John the Baptist Parish Public Schools students and culminates with a special visit from Santa bringing toys and treats.

Blessed to Be a Blessing, in partnership with the St. John the Baptist Parish Public School District, the St. John the Baptist Parish Public School District Parent/Teacher Organization, St. John Parish Government, St. John Parish District Attorney’s Office, Marathon Petroleum and Cargill, are sponsoring a Toy Drive to collect toys to be distributed at the event.

New, unwrapped toys can be donated at all public, private and parochial schools in the parish through Thursday.
