Charles A. Calcagno entered into eternal life on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2016, at the age of 84.

He was a native of Montz and a resident of LaPlace. He retired 32 years ago from GATX.
He was the beloved husband of the late Anna Lee Ockman Calcagno; loving father of Catherine C. Haydel (Kenneth) and Mark A. Calcagno (Marilee); grandfather of Kate Robinson (Shae), Krista Haydel (Brett), Brent Calcagno and Lauren Bowman; great grandfather of Avery and Colton Robinson, Kale Satterlee, Kason Borne and Grayson Bowman; son of the late Salvadore “Samuel” Calcagno Sr. and Loney Dupuy Calcagno; and brother of Joseph Calcagno (Sherry), Salvadore Calcagno Jr., Laura Benenate (the late Benny) all of Montz, Rose Faucheux (Daniel) of LaPlace and the late Santa Mae Chester.
Calcagno is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 529 W. 5th St. in LaPlace on Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 1 p.m.
Visitation will begin in church at 10:30 a.m.
Interment is in St. John Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
