RESERVE β€” The public is invited to join the St. John the Baptist Parish Public School District to discuss a new initiative that will invite members of the community into its schools.

A Patron Tour organizational meeting was canceled due to flooding concerns in August has been rescheduled for 8:30 a.m. Thursday at South Central Louisiana Technical College in Reserve. Beginning in September, the district will conduct a Patron Tour of a different school each month.

This will give realtors, brokers, business and elected leaders, community members and others the opportunity to visit with the administration of each school and tour each campus to get a first-hand look at what education looks like Thursday in their public schools.

The purpose of the organizational meeting for the Patron Tours is to discuss the initiative and learn more about what the public would like to see during these visits.

If you would like to attend, please RSVP attendance to Stacey Waller at swaller@stjohn.k12.la.us.

District leaders said many changes have occurred in recent years and it is important the public understands the work that has taken place to become a B ranked school system.

β€œIt is hoped that these visits will allow all stakeholders to experience the culture and climate of the St. John the Baptist Parish Public School District,” school leaders said.
