Songy, Hickerson join Port of South Louisiana board

LAPLACE — Governor John Bel Edwards recently announced two additional appointments to the Port of South Louisiana Board of Commissioners.
Judy Songy of LaPlace and Whitney Hickerson of Vacherie were sworn-in to their new positions at a recent regular commission meeting.
Judy B. Songy, a retired Century 21 owner/broker, who still pursues real estate sales, property management and real estate consulting part-time, is serving as a representative of St. John the Baptist Parish.
Hickerson, retired in 2004 from DuPont Company where he worked as a cost accountant, is a residential home builder.
The board is now comprised of nine members, with three commissioners residing in each parish within the Port’s jurisdiction: D. Paul Robichaux, P. Joey Murray III and Kelly Buckwalter of St. Charles Parish; Joseph M. Scontrino III, Patrick C. Sellars, and Judy B. Songy of St. John the Baptist Parish; and Robert “Poncho” Roussel, Stanley Bazile and Whitney Hickerson of St. James Parish.
