New lieutenants named

HAHNVILLE — St. Charles Parish Sheriff Greg Champagne recently announced the promotion of two employees to the rank of Lieutenant.
Lieutenant Clint Patterson is now over the Juvenile Investigations Division and Lieutenant Roanne Sampson is now over the Juvenile Justice Division.
Patterson began his career with the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office in 2001 and has dedicated his career in helping children. Patterson has eight years of experience investigating juvenile related crimes and crimes committed against children.
Patterson is also one of two forensic interviewers for St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office and the River Parishes area trained in basic and advanced forensic interviewing. Patterson has seven years of Hostage Negotiations training and has provided justice for hundreds of children involved in sexual abuse and physical abuse while providing a representation in the judicial system to protect their innocence.
Patterson and his wife Dana have two sons, Dylan and Tristen.
Sampson began her career with the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office in 1997 as a Juvenile Offender Monitoring Program Officer in Juvenile Investigations. During her time with the Sheriff’s Office, Sampson worked as a Deputy in Patrol and became a Juvenile Detective in 2002 where she remained until 2005 when she was promoted to Sergeant in Juvenile Investigations.
Due to Lieutenant Sampson’s passion for changing the lives of children and innovative ideas she transferred to the Juvenile Justice Division where she served as a Sergeant.
Sampson works with the Judicial System, the Parish and other community outreach organizations to help provide assistance and resources to at- risk youth.
Throughout her career with the Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant Sampson served as a Certified POST Instructor for the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office Academy for new recruits and also served as an Adjunct Instructor for ITT Technical Institute in the Criminal Justice Program.
Sampson’s passion for creating empowerment within youth shines through during an Annual Youth Rally that she coordinates, which focuses on speaking to youth about making positive choices, bullying, social media, substance abuse and showing youth they can succeed regardless of their surroundings or environmental situations.
Sampson and her husband David have four children.
