State Trooper’s Destrehan home burglarized; guns, more stolen

DESTREHAN — The home of a Louisiana State Trooper was burglarized by forced entry overnight Tuesday on River Point Drive in Destrehan, authorities said.

According to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office, several items were stolen including multiple firearms, a PlayStation 4, two small safes, a Super Bowl XLVII State Police Badge, a 50-year Commemorative State Police Badge, money, two iPhones and assorted collectible coins, including an F15 Air Force Anniversary Coin and a Lady Liberty Coin.

Sheriff Greg Champagne is asking for anyone with any information regarding the burglary to call Lieutenant Derek Pertuis or Detective Jennifer James at 985-783-1135 or 985-783-6807.
