Very little else has been released publicly as St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office investigators work the crime scene first discovered by deputies at 7:53 p.m. Wednesday in Reserve.

“Detectives continue to process evidence and to follow leads in the investigation,” Tregre said in a short release Thursday.

Authorities have not returned phone calls seeking additional comment.

Deputies were alerted to trouble following a shots fired call Wednesday in the 8800 block of Richmond Drive in Reserve.

At the scene, authorities discovered Bell slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle with a gunshot wound. Deputies also reported the vehicle hit a building.

Emergency medical services brought Bell to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, Tregre said.
