RESERVE — The 11th Annual St. John the Baptist Parish Veteran’s Luncheon runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 30 at REGALA Gym located at 200 Regala Park Road in Reserve.

St. John has honored its local military members in the past by showing a video adorned with pictures of fallen service members. This tradition will be shown at the luncheon, live on the Independence Day broadcast and on St. John’s website and Facebook page.

Residents are asked to assist with the video by submitting photos of local veterans and service members.

Photos in military uniforms are requested. Black and white and color photos will also be accepted, but high-resolution digital files are preferred.

Original photos will also be accepted but will become the property of St. John the Baptist Parish.

Please include the veteran’s name, rank and branch of the service with the photo, as well as the contact information and name of the family member submitting the photo.

If a photo was submitted in the last three years, it is not necessary to submit a new photo.

The deadline to submit pictures is 4 p.m. June 17. Photos can either be emailed to the Communications Department at communications@sjbparish.com or mailed to St. John Communications Department Attn: Veterans Tribute, 1801 W. Airline Hwy., LaPlace, LA 70068.

The 16th Annual Independence Day Celebration and fireworks show will take place on the evening of June 30 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 1550 Louisiana 44 in Reserve and the St. John Courthouse, 2393 Louisiana 18 in Edgard.

The celebration will begin at 6 p.m., and the live broadcast will air at 7 p.m. The fireworks show will begin at 9 p.m.
