LUTCHER — St. James Parish Hospital recently announced the newest Employees of the Quarter, recognizing Cindy Madere and Christine Hymel.

Each was nominated by staff and chosen by the Executive Leadership Team for their dedication to the hospital.

Madere, a 1982 graduate of Lutcher High School, has worked at St. James Parish Hospital for 18 years. She serves as a Billing Specialist.

She was nominated by Shannon Jackson, Admission Specialist, who states, “Cindy has a devoted and dedicated heart. She is someone who is efficient, works well and is quick at organizing her work in the way that gets the best results. She was put on this earth to achieve her greatest self, to live out her purpose and to do it courageously.”

Madere said the recognition is an honor.

“I love working at St. James Parish Hospital with all my awesome coworkers and administrators,” she said. “It is a pleasure to work with them every day. We are all committed to provide the best, most compassionate healthcare to our community.”

Hymel has worked at St. James Parish Hospital for 12 years and is a Licensed Practical Nurse. She is a 1995 graduate of Belaire High school and a 2004 graduate of Louisiana Technical College.

She is pursuing a degree as a Registered Nurse.

She was nominated by Torrie Deslatte, purchasing clerk, who wrote “Christine is the true definition of a caring individual and nurse. She has so much compassion and knowledge about her nursing profession. Patients here at St. James Parish Hospital are lucky to be cared for by a nurse like her.”

Hymel said she has been guided and mentored by some of the best.

“In this profession, roles change and experience seasons, but I believe being a caregiver always comes from your heart,” she said.

“This is an attribute I feel our organization strives for, as perfectly displayed through our logo. Twelve years with St. James Parish Hospital has brought me through many experiences, many seasons and my heart grows with each year and each patient encounter.”
