LAPLACE — Ascension of Our Lord Catholic School celebrated its 10th Anniversary Crusader Cotillion on April 2 with the theme “The Wizard of Oz.”

Faculty and students entertained the royal court and guests. Seventh grader and Sr. Court Maid Melody Newsome sang the National Anthem, Pre-K aide Marcy Bordelon sang “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” students in Pre-K 2 through 7th grades danced to “Munchkin Land” and faculty members danced to “Ease on Down the Road.”

The two courts raised $41,193.56.

King Kole Viviano and Queen Kylie Levet reigned as the Junior Court Royalty. Little Crusaders Paxton Wheelahan and Aubrey Melancon served as their pages.

Along with the king and queen, the junior court included: Prince Bryson Borne and Princess Brianna Borne, Duke Shane Zimmerman and Maid Katherine Chapman and Duke Aiden Ocmond and Maid Madelyn Gilbert.

Sharing in the celebration and retiring their scepters were returning 2015 Jr. King Logan Bourgeois and 2015 Jr. Queen Hannah Ohlsson.

King Ishan Iyer and Queen Sejal Patel reigned as the Senior Court Royalty.

Little Crusader Nathan Hoffman and Kindergartner Layla Torres served as their pages. Along with the king and queen, the senior court included Prince Dominic Joseph and Princess Emily Ronnenburg, Duke Troy Johnson II and Maid Trinity Hebert, Duke Keenan Gauff and Maid Melody Newsome, Duke Justin Tuircuit and Maid Madison Smith, Duke Logan Forsythe and Maid Adrienne Faucheux, Duke Aaron Chuter and Maid Savannah Fisher, Duke Odell Williams and Maid Alani Dew, and Duke Eugene Mandel Jr. and Maid Sanai Smith.

Sharing in the celebration and retiring their scepters were returning 2015 Sr. King Arjun Iyer and 2015 Sr. Queen Hailey Hilbun.

In celebration of the 10th Anniversary, past court kings and queens were presented.

In attendance was 2005 Jr. Queen Paige Ocmond, 2006 Jr. King Ricky Gaubert, 2006 Jr. Queen Corrin Drexel, 2008 Sr. King Nathaniel Weinert, 2009 Jr. Court Queen Sydney Shearer, 2010 Sr. King Austin Douroux, 2010 Jr. King Thomas Chapman, 2011 Sr. Queen Alexis Tran, 2011 Jr. Queen Anna DiMaggio, 2012 Sr. Queen Alexandra Martin, 2012 Jr. King Christian Montz, and 2012 Jr. Queen Kelly Campbell.
