LAPLACE — A local man was arrested Monday at his mother’s house after police said he used a gun during an assault last week.
Sheriff Mike Tregre said Thaddaus Williams, 20, of LaPlace was picked up without incident Monday at his mother’s residence in LaPlace and charged with aggravated assault with a firearm, simple criminal damage to property, home invasion, simple battery and two outstanding attachments for contempt of court.
Tregre said Williams was arrested in connection with a disturbance that occurred Thursday in the 1400 block of Yorktowne Drive.
Deputies responded to the residence at 6:56 p.m. and learned from a 31-year-old male victim that a gunman pointed a gun at him, chased him and punched the victim in the back of the head. A physical altercation continued outside, Tregre said, adding the gunman fled before deputies arrived.
