LAPLACE — Two brothers believed to have robbed a local pizza deliveryman at gunpoint seven months ago turned themselves into police Thursday, authorities said.
Christopher Davis, 20, and Dequinton Davis, 17, turned themselves into deputies at the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office Correctional Center.
Deputies booked each suspect with principal to armed robbery. They remain in custody in lieu of $65,000 bonds.
The arrest came four days after the Sheriff’s Office publically identified Christopher Davis, 20, and Dequinton Davis, 17, as suspects in an Aug. 29 armed robbery in Reserve.
Deputies began investigating the case Aug. 29 after responding to the 100 block of River Pointe Drive in Reserve.
At the time, a 19-year-old male victim told deputies he was making a pizza delivery when two men robbed him at gunpoint.
“They took the pizza order and the cash from the victim’s wallet,” Sgt. Dane Clement said.
“He was not injured. The victim said that he exited the truck with the order when the two perpetrators approached him. One perpetrator pointed a handgun at the victim and told him to drop the pizzas and to empty his wallet.”
Authorities said after the victim complied with the demands, the two gunmen fled on foot with the pizza and cash from the victim’s wallet.
Authorities obtained arrest warrants for Christopher Davis and Dequinton Davis in February.
