LaPlace’s Madison King named Louisiana’s Queen of Queens

BATON ROUGE — St. John the Baptist Parish Miss Andouille Queen and LaPlace resident Madison King was crowned the 2016 Louisiana Association of Fairs and Festivals (LAFF) Queen of Queens.

“I’m so honored, thrilled and excited to have been chosen as LAFF Queen of Queens,” King said. “This gives me the opportunity to represent Andouille at the next level and I look forward to promoting tourism across our state in the next year.”
The annual three-day pageant was held at the Crowne Plaza Executive Center in Baton Rouge and was the first time an Andouille Queen has won the prestigious title.
Madison captured the title of LAFF Queen of Queens after competing against 69 other festival Queens from across the state in a costume and Queen introduction, judges’ interview, on stage promenade, and on stage question.
As Queen of Queens, she will continue to promote the Andouille Festival while taking on a new role as the ambassador for the Louisiana Fairs and Festival Organization endorsing all of the great festivals across Louisiana. Earlier in the year, Madison visited Washington D.C. with other Louisiana festival queens and met with U.S. Representatives, Senators and other elected officials in the nation’s capital.
The new Queen of Queens is the 19-year-old daughter of Jason and Valerie King and a sophomore at Louisiana State University majoring in Mass Communication. Andouille Pageant Director Dana Milioto expressed excitement about the crowning and is honored to have the opportunity to share a new title with Madison as her director.
“Madison (King) is a true picture of beauty, brains and class,” Milioto said. “I am so proud of her and our entire Andouille Pageant Committee for all of their hard work and dedication throughout the entire year. It is truly a team effort.”
Parish President Natalie Robottom congratulated King on the honor and said she is confident King will continue to be an exceptional ambassador for St. John Parish.
“Our Andouille Festival team has worked hard to elevate our festival to a top tier festival, and it is an honor to have our Festival Queen reigning as Queen of Queens this year,” Robottom said. “We are thrilled for Madison and her family.”
