LAPLACE — Judge Penny Brown Reynolds, native of St. John the Baptist Parish and graduate of East St. John High School, hosted a successful book signing and panel discussion Thursday for her new book, “Real Talk for Real Sisters: Words of Wisdom and Truth of Today’s Women and Teens.”

The event took place at the St. John the Baptist Parish Library in LaPlace.

Judge Penny’s family and friends, members of the community, as well as some of her East St. John High School classmates, came out to give support.

She enlightened the room with knowledge, leadership and extraordinary strength. She told her story in the most truthful and unpretentious form possible.

The panel discussion related to topics such as health, religion and education.

These topics are all discussed in the book through life lessons from herself, as well as other successful women.

The panel featured Judge Penny herself, along with Parish President Natalie Robottom, Attorney-at-Law Nghana Lewis Gauff, Assistant Superintendent Dr. Quentina Timoll and Eliza Eugene, founder and president of Blessed to the Blessing.

Each woman elaborated personally on how each topic impacted them in their past and present life decisions. They all credited their faith as being the guide to their many successes.

Judge Penny also briefly discussed a new cosmetics line that she will soon be launching soon called “Brown Girls.” The line will include, lipsticks, lip glosses, lip liners, eyeshadows, bronzers, eyebrow fillers and powders.

Judge Penny encouraged the women in the audience to stay true to themselves and remember that “They Are Enough.”
