Victoria Casarez Munoz departed from us on Jan. 26, 2016, and has gone to her resting place.

She was born Dec. 27, 1943, in Beeville, Texas, to Jesus and Genoveva (Villanueva) Casarez. She was a resident of LaPlace for 20 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; son Arnold Moya; brother Eli Casarez; sisters Minerva Martinez and Jesusa Casarez; and half-brother Richard Casarez.

She leaves behind her husband, Esmeregildo Munoz Jr., whom she was blessed to have had a loving, strong and beautiful marriage of 44 years; her children, Cesario Moya III, Avelardo (Otilia) Moya, JoAnn (Raymond) Gendron Jr, Junie (Teresa) Munoz, Josie (Troy) Kummer, Edward (Cindy) Munoz, and Gerald Munoz; sisters Anna Maria (Danny) Garcia and Rosa Linda Casarez of Victoria, Texas; half-brother Israel Casarez of Beeville, Texas; and half- sister, Cristela Rodriguez of Houston, Texas.

Her grandchildren include Cesario IV, Jose, Justin, Desiree, Clarissa, and Emily Moya; Raymond III, Jenna V., and Ruben Gendron; Heather Bradshaw, Anthony, and Anna Munoz; Jessica, Jasei, and Justine Kummer; Alyssa, Marissa, and Edward Jr Munoz; Gerald Jr, Carlos, and Sadria  Munoz.

Her great-grandchildren are Trinity, Madison, Kaleb, Justine, Rebecca, Andrew, Jayce, Mallorie, Selena, and Sophia. Also, there are numerous nieces, nephews and cousins that she truly loved.

She was employed with Cox Cable Communications, where she retired after 29 years of dedication to the company.

To our family, she was more than just a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt, in-law, cousin and friend. She was the heart, soul and rock to the foundation of this family.

She showed us to love and be compassionate, and she prayed for us all daily, this she never failed. She was our Angel here on earth. She will be truly and deeply missed by us all.

We were blessed to have you and now you may go rest and enjoy your eternal resting place with all your loved ones.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 1 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 500 Minor St. in Kenner.

Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31 at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, 2806 W. Airline Highway in LaPlace and from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 1 at the church.

Interment is in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
