NEW ORLEANS — Stone Pigman Walther Wittmann recently announced that Brooke Crocker Tigchelaar has been elected as a member of the firm.

Tigchelaar joined Stone Pigman in 2008 as an Associate and became a Member Jan. 1.

“This is a tremendous honor, and I am privileged to work alongside some of the finest lawyers in the Gulf South,” Tigchelaar said.

As a Member, Tigchelaar has equity ownership in the firm. It is similar to what a Partner might be at other firms.

Tigchelaar, who was raised in the River Parishes, focuses her practice on litigation involving high net worth individuals and closely held businesses, which often involves fiduciary and information privacy issues.

She also has considerable experience in commercial litigation, including products liability, class actions and oil and gas disputes.

Tigchelaar has contributed to several notable firm victories in recent years, including the successful defense of a lawsuit involving alleged imprudence in the operation and drilling of two oil wells.

Stone Pigman Member Phillip Wittmann said Tigchelaar has proven herself to be an outstanding lawyer with all the skills required of a great trial lawyer.

“On behalf of the firm, I welcome her as a Member and look forward to working with her in the years to come,” Wittmann said.

Louisiana Super Lawyers named Brooke a “Rising Star” for the last four years and a “Top Lawyer” by New Orleans magazine for the last three years.

She is a Fellow of the Louisiana Bar Foundation and a member of the Mass Torts Committee of the American Bar Association Section of Litigation, where she serves as Co-Chair for the Membership and Diversity Sub-Committee.

She is also a member of the River Region Chamber of Commerce and the New Orleans Pro Bono Project.

She earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in 2008, where she graduated as a William Crowe Scholar and served as a member of the St. Thomas More Inn of Court, the Loyola Moot Court, and Order of the Barristers.
