LAPLACE — Olivier “Jun” Dufresne and Rebeca Mishelle Cox will reign as King and Queen Allovus LI during the annual ball Jan. 30.

“Allovus Through the Seasons” is the theme of the 51st consecutive ball, which will be held at St. Charles Catholic High School in LaPlace.

Captain Allovus LI Michael C. Reine is married to the former Alisha Heltz. They have two children, Shelby and Macie. Michael has been a life-long member of the LARAYO and Allovus organizations and is actively involved. He has been on the LARAYO board of directors for 13 years and is vice-president. He was a duke in Allovus XLI (2006) and King Allovus XLVII (2012).

As Michael ends his last year as captain, he thanked the Krewe of Allovus members for their support, continued hard work and dedication in order to hold 51 consecutive carnival balls.

King Allovus LI Olivier “Jun” Dufresne and Marie, his wife of 41 years, currently reside in Wallace. They are the parents of three children: Andrew, Elizabeth and Henri. They also have five grandchildren with No. 6 on the way. Jun has been an employee of Shell/Motiva for 41 years. He and Marie have been members of LARAYO for 27 years.

After moving to LaPlace from Houston, they immediately became involved in the organization where they met many of their current friends. Jun served as a LARAYO board member for 12 years. He coached boys baseball for ten years, girls cabbage ball for two years and girls softball for six years. He also served as the LARAYO swim team representative for four years and River Parish Swim League President for 12 years.

Jun and Marie have been members of the Krewe of Allovus for several years. The lineage of royalty in the Dufresne family includes: Jun as Duke Allovus XXX in 1995, Elizabeth as Maid Allovus XIV in 1999 and Elizabeth as Queen Allovus XXXIX in 2004.

Jun is very excited his grandchildren will serve as Pages to the King. The pages will be Michael Paul Landry, Jake Olivier Dufresne, Patrick Olivier Dufresne, Nicholas Joseph Landry and Honorary Page Amelie Bernice Dufresne.   

Queen Allovus LI Miss Rebeca Mishelle Cox is the 22-year-old daughter of Daryl P. Cox and Anna Wille Cox. She is attending Southeastern Louisiana University, majoring in Family and Consumer Science with a concentration in Nutrition. Rebeca was a member of the LARAYO swim team for 12 years and a member of the softball team for eight years. She worked as a lifeguard for four years, grounds worker and manager for six years and assisted with softball coaching for two years.

Rebeca is employed by H & M Pest Control in Metairie as an administrative assistant and Nola Boo in Metairie. She has been a member of the Krewe of Allovus for five years and was a maid in Allovus XLV. Her parents have been members of LARAYO for 18 years and members of Allovus for the past 13 years. Rebeca’s father, Daryl, was Duke Allovus XLIII and Ball Chairman for the Krewe for the past three years.

“I am forever grateful and honored to reign as Queen Allovus LI,” Rebeca said. “Being chosen as queen is the greatest reward and experience that my family and I could receive as acknowledgement of our dedication and hard work for the LARAYO and Allovus family. I’ve dedicated my time and efforts to Allovus and LARAYO in order to continue their summer traditions and carnival customs with hopes of becoming their queen one day. I especially would like to thank my parents for giving me this wonderful opportunity.”

Duke Brandon Michael Ocmond, of LaPlace, is married to Christie, and they have three children: Paige, Ethan and Aiden. Brandon is employed by Denka and has been involved in LARAYO since a young child. As a child, he participated in baseball and swimming through high school.

As an adult, Brandon helped assist coaching his boys’ baseball teams for eight years. He has also served as a stroke judge for the swim team for 13 years. Brandon has served on the LARAYO board of directors for two years as director of swimming. He has been involved in the Krewe of Allovus for three years. His father served as Captain for three years and his daughter, Paige, was Maid Allovus XLIX.

Maid Sarah Vicknair, daughter of Darren and Jill Vicknair, is a freshman at LSU. She is majoring in Kinesiology and is a member of the Phi Mu fraternity. Sarah and her family have been active in LARAYO for many years. Sarah has completed 15 years of swimming, played softball, worked in the concession stand and served as a lifeguard.

Her father coached boys baseball, served as boys baseball director and concession director. Allovus royalty in Sarah’s family includes her grandfather, who was King Allovus III, and her mother, who was Queen Allovus XIV.

Duke Jeffrey Joseph Vicknair is married to Jessi Gauthreaux Vicknair. They have three children, Brandon, Jordyn and Joshua. Jeffrey is employed by CT Traina Mechanical as an HVAC technician, where he holds 23 years experience. He and his family have been members of LARAYO for 10 years. Jeffrey has served as baseball coach and softball coach each of those years. He also assists with special projects as needed.

Maid Heather Nicole Roussel is the daughter of Roger and Lori Roussel. She is a freshman attending the University of Louisiana Lafayette, majoring in nursing. She is currently a member of Phi Mu Sorority and plans to become a nurse practitioner in the future.

Heather played softball for seven years at LARAYO and swam for three years. Her mom coached softball one year and her dad coached two years. Her parents have been members of the Krewe of Allovus for 11 years. Her father, Roger, was a Duke in 2009.

Duke Jeffery Jude Klibert is native of LaPlace and now resides in St. Amant. He is the husband of Ja-Neen Klibert and father of Sarah A Klibert, Maid of Allovus XLVIII, and Ashley E. Klibert. Jeffrey has been employed as Electronic Manager at Diversified Well Logging, LLC for 25 years. He has been a member of LARAYO since 1998.

During this time, he served as a softball coach for his daughter’s team. There is a list of Allovus royalty in Jeffrey’s family. He is brother to Richard G. Klibert, King Allovus XLVI, uncle of Christine Klibert Creppel, Queen Allovus XXXV, and uncle of  Richard G. Klibert, Jr., Duke Allovus XLVIII.

Maid Emma Richard is the daughter of Dwain and Shelly Richard of LaPlace. She is a graduate of John Jay Beauty College. She is employed part time at St. Charles Borromeo in Destrehan. At LARAYO, she played softball and was a member of the swim team. She also spent many summers working in the concession stand and life guarding. Emma’s dad was an Allovus Duke XLII.

Duke Michael James Murden is from LaPlace and is the fiancé of Brandy Zeringue, father of Bryce Murden and step-father of Grace Vicknair. Michael has been a LARAYO member for six years. During his time at LARAYO, he has enjoyed coaching for four years. Michael also served as a board member for the last three years over grounds keeping and assisting in maintaining the fields and property. Michael has also coached football at Riverside Academy in Reserve for the last four years. Coaching children is a rewarding activity he enjoys and loves as he helps a child reach his full potential.

Maid Taylor Ann Miller is the 16-year-old daughter of Tim and Lynne Miller of Montz. She is an honor student in the tenth grade at St. Charles Catholic High School. She is on the soccer team and is a member of the French Club and Beta Club. She played softball for LARAYO for 10 years.

Her father, Timothy, coached for 19 years and was the director for girls softball for over five years. Royalty in Taylor’s family dates back to the beginning of Allovus. Taylor’s grandfather, Ferrol Keating, was a king, her mother a maid, her father was duke. Her sister Amanda was a maid, as well as queen, and her sister Tiffani was a maid.

King Allovus L Wayne Lloyd Jones has been married to his wife JoAnn for 40 years and they reside in LaPlace. Wayne and JoAnn have three daughters, Stacy Tribe, Kelly Arnett and Jamie Jones, and they have five grandchildren. Wayne Jones has retired from the St. John Sheriff’s Office, where he served 32 years; 16 as Sheriff. Wayne is presently owner for Professional Consulting Services LLC.

Wayne and JoAnn have been involved with LARAYO for over 36 years, and they continue to spend lots of time there in the summer watching their grandchildren swim and play ball. In his spare time, Wayne enjoys watching his grandchildren in their activities and hanging out on the sports patio with family and friends.

Queen L Chelsie Lynn Cupit is the daughter of Steve and Julie Cupit of LaPlace.  He attends Delgado Community College, where she is majoring in accounting. Chelsie has been involved in LARAYO for 16 years. In those years she played softball, swam on the swim team and has been coaching the swim team for the last three years.

Steve has been involved in LARAYO for 19 years and has held many positions on the board and coaching. Julie coached softball for seven years, served as Swim Team Representative for eight years and manages the lifeguards. Chelsie has been a member of the Krewe of Allovus for three years.

Her parents have been krewe members for the past 16 years. Her father Steve was a Duke in 2000, served as Captain for three years and was King in 2013. Her grandfather, Steve Cupit Sr., was a Duke in 1975 and was King Allovus XI.
