St. Charles Parish Sheriff Greg Champagne said allegations of a sexual relationship between a female student and a female teacher at Destrehan High were reported Wednesday. The information was provided by a family member of the student.

Detectives interviewed the student, who disclosed a sexual relationship with a teacher, identified as Kimberly Naquin, 26, of 6 Stanton Hall Drive in Destrehan, Champagne said.

According to authorities, the relationship began in September 2014 and continued until approximately August 2015.

Champagne said the student indicated most of the inappropriate contact occurred at the teacher’s prior residence in Kenner, and an undetermined amount of incidents occurred in a Destrehan High School classroom and at a Destrehan residence.

Detectives with the Kenner Police Department have also initiated their own investigation.

Naquin was booked Thursday for carnal knowledge of a juvenile and prohibited sexual conduct between a student and educator.

She is being held on a $75,000 bond in the Nelson Coleman Corrections facility in Killona.
