RESERVE — A hail of gunfire rained down Saturday night in Reserve, striking multiple vehicles and one home occupied by a 73-year-old woman.

St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 200 block of Chad B. Baker Street in Reserve at 9:19 p.m. Saturday after gunshots riddled the area.

Deputies found three vehicles and a residence on Chad B. Baker Street hit multiple times. No one was reported injured. St. John Sheriff’s Sgt. Dane Clement said detectives are working on little information.

“There is no witness information or victim information,” he said Tuesday morning. Authorities are working to determine if the locations were specifically targeted.

“We aren’t releasing the number of gunshots,” Clement said, who added multiple gunshots penetrated the front wall of a residence. “There was at least one person in the residence at the time of the shooting. It was a 73-year-old female.”

Clement said the vehicle struck sustained multiple gunshots, and authorities do not have any suspect information at this time.

There is no evidence the shooting was gang related, Clement said.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information regarding the shooting is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office TIPS line at 985-359-TIPS or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111. Those who call Crimestoppers do not have to testify and may qualify for a cash reward. Residents can also submit tips at stjohnsheriff.org/submitatip.php.
