LAPLACE — Michael Tregre and his daughter, Jasmine Tregre, will share the spotlight as King and Queen du Monde XXXVII in the River Parishes’ largest Carnival celebration in LaPlace.

The King and Queen and members of their royal court will be officially presented at the 37th Krewe du Monde Ball at 7 p.m. Feb. 6 at the Pontchartrain Center in Kenner, as Krewe du Monde “Honors Heroes Among Us.”

The parade rolls through LaPlace, starting at 11 a.m. Feb. 7.

Michael Tregre of LaPlace has been Sheriff of St. John the Baptist Parish since 2012. He served as a Duke in Krewe du Monde XXX in 2008.

Michael and his wife Tanyia have two children, Jasmine and Jared. Jasmine, graduated from Louisiana State University in the spring of 2015 with a Bachelor in Biological Sciences.

She is currently studying for her MCAT, and plans on attending medical school. Jasmine served as a Maid in Krewe du Monde XXXIV in 2012.

Duhon is an Instrument Analyzer Specialist at Motiva Enterprises. Duhon and his wife Kodi have two children Chelsea and Chase. White, the daughter of Tim and Dawn White of LaPlace, is a cosmetologist/esthetician.

• Duke Chris Kugler of LaPlace and Maid Payton Bourgeois of LaPlace

Kugler works at Marathon Petroleum. Chris is married to Tracey Kugler. Chris & Tracey have three children, Gabriel, Baylor and Caraline. Bourgeois, the daughter of Kyle and Susie Bourgeois of Montz, is a student at Louisiana State University majoring in Marketing.

• Duke Wayne Stein of LaPlace and Maid Hailey Chapman of LaPlace.

Stein is Head Baseball Coach and Assistant Football Coach at St. Charles Catholic High School. Stein and his wife Christine have two children, Drei and Charlie. Chapman, the daughter of Mark and Heidi of LaPlace, is a student at Louisiana State University studying Marketing.

• Duke Gary Aucoin of Paulina and Maid Victoria Mohon of Paulina

Aucoin works at Wartsila North America. Gary and his wife Kristin have three children, Cooper, Mila and Madden. Mohon, the daughter of Bruce and Julie of Paulina, is a student at Nicholls University majoring in Marketing.

• Duke Sean Roussel of LaPlace and Maid Alexis Shirer of LaPlace

Roussel is General Manager of sales for Philadelphia Mixing Solutions. Roussel and his wife Mona have one son Nicholas. Shirer is the daughter of Paul and Rachel Shirer of LaPlace, is a student at Southeastern University.

• Duke Robbie LeBlanc of Paulina and Maid Jaci Gravois of Paulina

LeBlanc is Vice President of First American Bank. LeBlanc and his wife Marcy have five children, Luke, Dylan, Seth, Leah and Laynie. Gravois, the daughter of Clyde and Tania Gravois of Paulina, is student at Louisiana State University studying Biological Science with a concentration in secondary education.

• Captain William Millet of Gramercy and Captain’s Lady Lori Millet of Gramercy

Millet is Krewe du Monde’s Captain and his wife Lori is the Captain’s Lady. William has been involved with LaPlace Lions Club and Krewe du Monde since 2010. He and his wife Lori have three children, Brooke Boe, Parker, and Layla. Millet is a Process Operator for Mosaic.

Krewe du Monde was founded by the LaPlace Jaycees in 1974. The current Krewe du Monde activities are run by and for the benefit of the Lion’s Club of LaPlace. The krewe’s parade is the largest in the River Parishes.
