Police say 2 men shot during violent St. John weekend

RESERVE — Authorities are asking for the public’s help following a violent stretch Saturday that resulted in two victims with gunshot wounds.

St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 1100 block of Louisiana 44 in Reserve at 12:15 p.m. Saturday following a report of gunshots in the area.

Deputies located a man with a gunshot wound at the scene, Sheriff Mike Tregre said.

A second man with a gunshot wound arrived in a private vehicle at Ochsner Medical Complex-River Parishes emergency room in LaPlace.

Both shooting victims were taken to a New Orleans-area hospital for treatment, authorities said.

Investigators did not immediately release details of the shootings or information on the severity of the injuries.
