LaPlace native joins NCIS

Daniel Francois, 17, a native of LaPlace, is making his television debut as a guest star named Alonzo Brown on NCIS New Orleans.
The episode, titled “Blue Christmas,” airs at 8 p.m. Tuesday on CBS.
Daniel, the son of Daniel and Danica Francois, attended St. Joan of Arc and then Holy Cross High School in New Orleans. He currently resides in Los Angeles with his parents and younger brother, Deon.
Daniel is also currently filming a short film titled “Breathe” in Lake Arrowhead in California.
Daniel’s passion to entertain began at the young age of 8, when a family friend suggested he enter a contest as a kid reporter.
After entering the contest, he had a strong desire to entertain.
In 2011, Daniel immersed himself in acting classes and private coaching in New Orleans.
His acting coach and teacher realized his talents and suggested he audition for her upcoming pilot “Under One Roof.”
In 2012, Daniel was chosen for the role of DJ in the pilot, and that is when his real desire and passion to become an actor came alive.
In 2013, Daniel and his family moved to Los Angeles to pursue his acting career.
Since moving to Los Angeles, Daniel has attended various acting classes, workshops and seminars.
He is also a member of his school’s Theatre of the arts and Drama Club. Daniel has also been part of several short films.
