DESTREHAN — The MetroPelican Opera will perform Hansel and Gretel at 6 p.m. Dec. 22 at the East Regional Library, 160 W. Campus Dr. in Destrehan. Organizers said the show is an all-ages event.

This performance is a fully staged and costumed reenactment of the Grimm Brothers’ fairy tale.

“We are very excited to host this special holiday performance here in St. Charles Parish,” Public Relations Librarian Lauren Pitz said. “It will be an enchanting introduction to opera for new audiences and quite a treat for opera lovers.”

This event is sponsored by the St. Charles Public Schools Foundation through a grant from the United Way of St. Charles.

Light refreshments will be available.
