LAPLACE — Police say three teenagers assaulted and robbed two other teens Tuesday evening in LaPlace.
According to St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff Mike Tregre, two juvenile victims — a 16-year-old male and a 15-year-old female — told deputies they were walking on Evergreen Drive at approximately 6 p.m. Tuesday when they were approached by three male teenagers wearing dark-colored clothing.
One teenager pushed the female victim to the ground while another teenager grabbed the male victim, Tregre said. The third teenager reached in the male victim’s pocket and stole his cell phone.
The perpetrators fled on foot towards Greenwood Drive. No one was injured.
Outside of dark-colored clothing, authorities did not provide any description of the suspects.
Anyone with information regarding the assault is encouraged to call the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office TIPS line at 985-359-TIPS or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
