“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” And he who was seated on the throne said, “behold, I am making all things new.” Revelation 21:4-5a.
Helen Lucille Duhé, 91, a longtime resident of LaPlace and a precious child of God was made new after a brief illness and she is dancing again. She enjoyed music, parties, sewing, needlecrafts and the art of quilling and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and other family and friends.
She dearly loved her church and church family. She was patient, spiritual, strong, brave (and feisty). She offered the gift of herself as a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the LaPlace Volunteer Fire Department, a volunteer at River Parishes Hospital and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fleet Reserve Association (Unit 92) in Metairie.
Duhé passed away on Monday, Nov. 2, 2015. The beloved wife of the late Sylvester (Rusty) Duhé, she is survived by her daughters Theresa McCoy (husband, Bill) and Sharon Davis, her son John W. (wife, Alice), many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11 a.m. Nov. 21, 2015, at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, 1101 Belle Alliance Drive in LaPlace with the Rev. Margaret Austin officiating. We invite you to join us in celebrating her life. Wear color! In lieu of flowers, Lucille asks that you please consider a donation in her memory to St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church.
