St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies began looking for 27-year-old Alan Burl Monday, when Burl’s sister alerted authorities at 11:01 a.m. that no one had heard from her brother in days.

“Witnesses said they last saw Alan Burl (Oct. 29) dressed in a black T-shirt, black pants and Reebok tennis shoes,” Sheriff Mike Tregre said in a release.

Authorities describe Burl as black, approximately six-feet, one-inch tall and weighing 180 pounds. He has black, short wavy hair.

“Burl’s sister, the caller, told deputies that she had not heard from Burl since (Oct. 29),” Tregre said.

“Deputies checked for Burl at the address on Ormond Boulevard, which is his recording studio, but deputies did not locate him there. The family said it’s unusual for him to be gone that length of time without communicating.”

Deputies said Burl was last seen getting in an unknown make and model car at his residence in the 600 block of Gardenia Drive in LaPlace. The occupants of the car are unknown.

As of press time Friday morning, Sgt. Dane Clement said authorities have no new information on the car or those seen with Burl last week. However, Clement said deputies do not suspect foul play at this time.

Deputies are investigating any current issues Burl might have had, but are not releasing any findings at this time.

Deputies are also not releasing if Burl had a criminal history.

Tregre said family members are working closely with authorities and have not made deputies aware of any medical issues for Burl.

Tregre said Burl has been entered into a nationwide database and his photo has been posted on social media in the hopes of locating him.

Anyone with information regarding this case is encouraged to call the Sheriff’s Office TIPS line at 985-359-TIPS or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
