St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff Mike Tregre said the man in question is Alan Burl, 37, of LaPlace.

“Witnesses said they last saw Alan Burl Thursday evening dressed in a black T-shirt, black pants and Reebok tennis shoes,” Tregre said in a release to media Tuesday afternoon. “He is a black man, approximately six-feet, one-inch tall and weighs 180 pounds. He has black, short wavy hair.

“(Burl) was seen getting in an unknown make and model car at his residence in the 600 block of Gardenia Drive in LaPlace. The occupants of the car were unknown.”

Deputies began their investigation this week after responding to the 100 block of Ormond Boulevard in LaPlace for a welfare check on Burl, only to find no sign of him.

“Burl’s sister, the caller, told deputies that she had not heard from Burl since Thursday,” Tregre said. “Deputies checked for Burl at the address on Ormond Boulevard, which is his recording studio, but deputies did not locate him there.”

Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Burl is encouraged to call the Sheriff’s Office TIPS line at 985-359-TIPS or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
