SCC students enjoy homecoming celebration

LAPLACE — St. Charles Catholic High School celebrated homecoming with a motorcade featuring the homecoming court wearing suits and riding in shiny convertibles, followed by the crowning of the homecoming queen at halftime.
Homecoming Court members were voted on by their peers.
The SCC Homecoming Court and Alumni Escorts included eighth graders Anna Guidry escorted by Josh Schexnayder, Class of 1999, and Morgan Williams escorted by David Brouwer, Class of 1984.
Freshman representatives included Christina Hood escorted by Ralph Litolff, Class of 1965, and Maddie Millet escorted by Michael Wright, Class of 2008.
Sophomore representatives included Jori Bryant escorted by Jordan Favorite, Class of 2014, and Callie Henry escorted by Troy Haydel, Class of 1986.
Junior representatives included Sadie Kelly, escorted by Jared Tregre, Class of 2013, and Lillian Smith, escorted by Frank Tarantino, Class of 1996.
There were six senior members of the 2015 Homecoming Court, who were also escorted by alumni. The senior court members and their escorts included Alyssa Arceneaux escorted by her brother Matthew Arceneaux, Class of 2001; Lindsey DeSilvey escorted by Billy Roussel, Class of 1990; Ariel Landry escorted by Lance Peytavin, Class of 1990; Rebecca Laurent escorted by Nolan Louque, Class of 1983; Madeleine Murphy escorted by her brother Mark Murphy, Class of 2006; and Heidi Roussel escorted by David Ratliff, Class of 1981.
Senior Ariel Landry, daughter of Ken and Maye Landry, was crowned St. Charles Catholic’s Homecoming Queen. Ariel has been a member of the Student Council for three years. She is president of the National Honor. Ariel has been a member of FCA and tennis team for four years.
She has been a member of the soccer team, Spanish, science and art clubs for three years. She is on the retreat team and serves as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. This is her third year on the Court.
“I was really excited and surprised to be crowned queen,” she said. “I’m honored to represent my school and the student body of St. Charles Catholic High School!”
Senior Madeleine Murphy, daughter of Mike and Giselle Murphy, was named Maid of Honor.
Madeleine is on the volleyball and basketball teams and is a member of FCA and French Club.
Madeleine is vice president of the National Honor Society and SCC Student Body President.
