LAPLACE — The River Parishes best cookbook hits newsstands in exactly four weeks, and the assistance of the region’s best chefs are needed to keep the tradition going and the great food served.

With Thanks-giving next month and holiday parties just around the corner, L’OBSERVATEUR is once again gearing up for the annual publication of its much beloved Holiday Cookbook.

Each year the cookbook showcases the best and tastiest local appetizer, soup, salad, entrée and dessert recipes submitted from River Region residents.

“Those in south Louisiana — especially the River Region — enjoy some of the best dining in the nation in the comfort of their own kitchens, and this special edition is our way of sharing those meals with you,” L’OBSERVATEUR Editor Stephen Hemelt said.

“Great meals have a way of bringing people together, and we hope this recipe book allows friends and strangers an opportunity to share good food and good times.”

The cookbook will be included inside a special edition of L’OBSERVATEUR, which will be delivered to homes and available at newsstands Nov. 21 throughout the River Parishes.

Email your recipes to stephen.hemelt@lobservateur.com and please include your name and town of residence with all submissions. Recipes must be received by Nov. 4.

If available, include a brief story about the history of the recipe or a photo of the delicious finished product.
