McLin: Better leadership for better state

My name is Lester McLin. I’m a candidate for State Representative in District 81, which includes parts of St. John, St. James, Ascension and Livingston Parishes.
I believe I can provide better leadership for Louisiana. I am committed to investing in our communities, creating good-paying jobs, giving women equal pay for equal work, supporting local education and defending the family.
I have owned and managed a local engineering and land-surveying company for nearly 30 years. My company has worked on numerous projects, including many of the roads and bridges, schools and governmental buildings, as well as large residential and commercial developments in the region.
I can put my expertise to work to cutting red tape at DOTD and investing in better infrastructure for our district, now!
I am the oldest son of nine children. I learned the value of family, hard work and honoring my word at an early age. I went to work at the age of 14 to help pay my expenses.
After high school, I enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserve and served seven years before attending LSU. I believe a good education is important, and every child should be given the opportunity to learn and succeed.
I will support our teachers, and I will stand with our parents’ rights to have a say in what their children learn each day.
I am blessed to have a loving wife, Dee Ann, and we share five children and seven grandchildren.
I believe in traditional families, and I believe it’s important that we protect our right to stand up for Christian values and the institution of marriage.
I will fight to protect our local businesses and churches who don’t want to participate in gay wedding ceremonies from being attacked by liberals who want to tear down these institutions.
You can trust me to represent you in the State Legislature. We can create a better Louisiana, but it starts with better leadership.
Please vote for me, Lester McLin, #63 for State Representative in District 81.
