Photo Feature: Book Swap opens pages

- R.K. Smith Middle School recently held its annual Summer Book Swap. Incoming sixth graders from Luling Elementary were included. Following book talks, all students chose their first book to take home in May and were able to swap them out for nine other books throughout the summer. Students reading the most books in each grade level were awarded prizes. Those recognized were, from left, sixth grader Charles Looney, seventh grader Kevell Byrd and eighth grader Victoria Clark.
