GARYVILLE — A man was found fatally shot this week in Garyville.

St. John Sheriff Mike Tregre said deputies responded to the 300 block of Sherman Walker Street in Garyville at 7:40 a.m. Wednesday after a man was reported possibly dead next to a residence.

“Upon arrival, deputies located a victim of an apparent gunshot wound,” Tregre said via release. “The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.”

Authorities did not immediately release the victim’s name or details of the crime scene.

Anyone with information regarding the fatal shooting is asked to call the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office TIPS line at 985-359-TIPS or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
