St. John Parish officials said with passage of the 2014 Bond Issue, drainage and drainage equipment needs are being addressed. Over the last several months, approximately $773,000 of the $1 million allocation was used to purchase a marsh buggy ($155,267), a grappler truck ($139,994), an excavator ($151,000) and a street sweeper ($219,283). Delivery of an 18-wheeler cab and low boy trailer ($107,070.76) to transport equipment is expected in the upcoming weeks.
